Beading Study Group, June 2019

Tuesday, June 18, 2019 Beading Study Group

The June 11th bead study meeting was led by Yvonne Warren, who taught us how to make jewelry from vinyl tubing! The tubing is rather common and very inexpensive, and can be purchased at hardware stores. The clear tubing we used came in small and medium sizes.

The object was to make beads and fill the the tube beads with fabric scraps, beads, metallic thread, yarns, and other small objects. The filled tube beads would be finished on each end with a bead cap. The tube beads could then be linked together to design a necklace or bracelet. Some members also designed earrings to match the necklaces. This necklace design was very successful and professional looking.

Jewelry Artist Ila Lewis is wearing one of her original designs from the June Bead Study meeting. Really a spectacular necklace, and inexpensive to make!
