-Irene Camerino, SCTA President
A Heartfelt Special Thanks to our SCTA info table team who braved the outdoor courtyard, shared study group info and encouraged all to join SCTA and participate in upcoming Artisan Workshops: Ellen Weinstein, Janet Becker, Monea Berry Bennett, Elisa Reutinger & Belvia Sharp
This year SCTA began partnering with the Crocker Museum at their 2nd Thursday ArtMix Events which related to & celebrating the Fiber Arts.
January’s ArtMix: Runway
ArtMix featured SCTA member Anne DeStefano who demonstrated Kumihimo Jewelry. Ciara Reed not only modeled Anne’s jewelry but also one of her own creations: a long denim skirt upcycled using waistbands from jeans! Lisa Hall (Membership Chair), Yvonne Warren (Surface Design/ Mixed Media Study Group Leader) and Monea Berry Bennett (Photographer) staffed the SCTA table and shared Membership & Study Group Info and encouraged all to join our fiber arts community!

February’s ArtMix: Island of Enchantment
This theme was a celebration of Puerto Rico and the Crocker’s new exhibition ‘The Sense of Beauty: Six Centuries of Painting from Museo de Arte de Ponce’. Grey Lux, our Vice President who is of Puerto Rican descent, hosted a Taino Lino print activity which had 3 printing stations. His interactive print making activity was so popular that Crocker staff had to end the line by 8pm to ensure the prints dried by 9pm!
See you at our next ArtMix MeetUp!
