At our March meeting, Anne DeStefano will lead us in making fun and unique creations with her Heirloom Chain Necklace class. There are many ways to adapt this technique to fit your style. Check out a few examples from Pinterest/Kay Adams to help you plan what treasures to bring to include in your design. Note: your design can be simpler!

There is a good bit of prep for this class, so start now!
Supply List:
Bead mat, etc. to work on
Pliers – Chain nose, round nose, etc. – 2 pairs
Wire Cutters – (just in case)
Jump rings – gold and silver color – 18 gauge – various sizes
Chain – desired length
Clasp
Glue – (just in case) – CS Hypo cement or Aleene's Jewelry 7 metal glue
Assorted charms, items, etc. for attaching to the chain. Just about anything that has a special meaning to you.
NOTE: Anne will bring some extra jump rings, glue, wire etc.
To Do Ahead of Class:
Cut pin backs off pins and file so nothing catches on clothes.
Make sure each item can be attached to the chain with a jump ring or rings. If not, consider wirewrapping the item with 22- or 24-gauge wire.
Make a piece of paper with a line in the middle representing the desired length of the necklace. Mark the center and 6 inches from the back on each side. Bring to class as you will use this to layout your design before you attach items. (See photo).
It might be helpful for feedback from others in the class before you actually attach items.
In order to ensure enough seating, please RSVP using the button above.
The meeting is Free for SCTA Members. If you care to bring a friend (non-member), their first visit is complimentary. Non-member class fees are 10.00 after their first visit.
